Furries and Fursuits in February.
It has been a long while hasn’t it? A combination of being sick and work schedules meant the inability of this wolf to attend furmeets with any regularity. Till yesterday.
Yesterday’s meet wasn’t the most crowded I’ve been at, but the amount of fursuiters at this furmeet has to be one of the tops I’ve attended so far.

The onset of winter
The last few weeks have seen the temperature drop rapidly, heralding the winter soon to be upon us. The change in the seasons also brings with it later sunrises and earlier sunsets.
The overcast autumn sky, together with the general decrease in light seems to have thrown off my metering this fine day, as I was pushing up rarely used iso settings.

Raaain! Wash away my sorrow, take away my pain...
It’s been awhile! Didn’t attend the last meet as I was recovering from a major bout of illness. Today though, I had a difficult time leaving the flat as the weather seemed meh, but I did want to chat with my furiends, and took out the slr in case it rains, as my baby has gone through more than a bit of rain.

Woke up this fine day, and noted that… it was overcast <grin> Given that the dynamic range is going to be relatively low (and frankly, I’m a bit sick of running around with my slr because I really need to get the lens barrel repaired, buy a new lens hood and get the af sensors recalibrated) - it’s time to bring out the off-shoe flash, engage 1:1 aspect ratio on the LX5...

It's the LondonFurs Summer Paaartaaay!
It’s the London Furs’ yearly summer party! And our dear organizers know how to set up a great location, the Agenda Bar right in the heart of the city.
The summer (and xmas) parties do draw alot of furs from all over the country, and there were some that made it from Sweden (waves hi to neweinstein!) as well as Singapore!

Fursuits in London
Perfect weather for a london fur meet today, and just as the main organized fursuit walk was to head off, I was pulled aside by a blue bunny asking if I was heading out with the main group, or if I wanted to join a few fursuiters on small walk nearby.

Confuzzled 2012
Confuzzled 2012 is the largest furry convention in the UK, and this is the first furry convention I stayed for the full length - arrived a day early in fact.

12th November - Furries, fireworks
Today in London, is the Lord Mayor’s Show, which meant that the area around our furmeet and fursuit walk was jammed packed with crowds waiting to see the fireworks.

1st October - has it been that long?!

30th July - Summer Paartaaay!
It’s that time of the year again folks! The London Fur’s Summer Party!

Review, fursuit walk 5th March 2011
So after having two months worth of shooting with the LX5, I decided to jump on back to the SLR. In order to get full iTTL off shoe flash, I bought a very nice 1.5m extension cable from Calumet. It’s not on the website, but not only is it a good length, the termination port allows connection for up to 3 iTTL flashes. Woo!
In practice, TTL is a godsend, especially iTTL. Fuss free well...

Another month, another fur meet! As before, I brought out my Panasonic LX5, YongNuo flash triggers and a Niko n SB-28. In between this meet and the last, I’d spent alot of time shooting at events, street, and generally using the LX5 as my main camera. In fact, my D300 hasn’t seen *any* action since I got my LX5 :-/

Mind Juice: Hyperfocus with the Panasonic LX5

LF Xmas Party 2010: Unexpected fursuit walk
So yesterday was the LondonFur’s Xmas Party, and being the introverted wolf I am, braced myself for a glut of people. It wasn’t too bad, except that with my major jetlag, was already feeling sleepy around 4pm :-/ Evidently people were arriving just as I was leaving, and missed out one some fab fursuiters. Oh well.

London Furmeet 20th November 2010
BANG!
So today Noah (above) was at the meet, toting his nerf gun AND going on the walk. Sweetness! It’s late November in the UK, which means short days and really cold nights. With the light not actually very strong at midday, it means ramping up our ISO values in order to get proper shutter speeds even with the lens wide open.
Case in point, the usual time to leave for the fursuit...
